The HydraFacial has taken the skincare community by storm.
This patented hydro dermabrasion process delivers a gentle yet highly effective treatment of various skin conditions, including acne, dryness, congestion, age spots, wrinkles, and more. HydraFacial is a non-invasive procedure performed in medical spas and dermatologists’ offices to yield instant and long-lasting results.
HydraFacials use a proprietary Vortex-Fusion technology to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin of the face and neck.
It utilizes a spiral wand instrument and a set of function-specific tips to manually suction away impurities and dead skin cells at an intensity tailored to the skin being treated. It simultaneously pushes a powerhouse cocktail of potent active skincare ingredients into the deep layers of the skin. These super serums perform a chemical exfoliation and include antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to add moisture, rebuild healthy texture and tone, and stimulate collagen production for clearer, plumper, and younger-looking skin.
It takes only 30 – 60 minutes to enjoy HydraFacial in three relaxing and rejuvenating phases:
- Step One: Cleanse & Peel
Using the Vortex technology, your practitioner will sweep over your face and neck in two complete passes to cleanse and steam open pores to prepare your face for mechanical and chemical exfoliation. Lactic acid is then applied to soften sebum, an oily excretion that causes large, clogged pores. HydraFacial uses two acids here, chosen in specific strengths and preparations for your skin type and condition. Glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy, breaks apart dead, dull skin on the surface. Salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy, seeps deep into pores to dissolve fatty excretions and other impurities. They work hand in hand to lay essential groundwork for a complete resurfacing of your skin.
- Step Two: Extract & Hydrate
Your aesthetician will then apply the wand with feathering strokes to dislodge and suction softened blackheads and other impurities, a process far more comfortable than traditional manual extraction. A variety of booster treatments are available at this point to customize your treatment to your skincare goals. You can get a complete description of what enhancements are available right here. An application of LED lights follows to calm the skin, remove redness, and stimulate collagen.
- Step Three: Fuse & Protect
Proprietary antioxidants and peptides are then applied to protect your refreshed skin surface using the “kiss and twist” motion of the wand over the entire surface of the face to impart a dewy finish to your facial. Sunscreen follows, a daily essential to preserve your newly burnished complexion.
The great news is that there is no discomfort during treatment or post-procedure downtime, so clients walk out the door with a hydrated and healthy glow. Results last from four to six weeks and stay optimal with a commitment to monthly HydraFacials.
HydraFacials are appropriate for all skin types for those not pregnant or experiencing severe inflammation of active acne or rosacea.
They are a great place to start if you are new to medical spa services or wish to best prepare for or follow your injectable treatments. And they are especially effective as a post-treatment after a chemical peel. It’s also an excellent treatment for men!
Our clients also get a customized home skincare regimen to support the longevity of the results of all their in-office treatments.
